Rick Wallace
For more than 20 years, Wallace managed Vashon’s homegrown Emergency Operations Center (EOC), including through the pandemic. He co-founded the VashonBePrepared nonprofit. He is currently the President of Voice of Vashon, the island’s radio and TV station, is active in the arts, and has led multiple community fundraising efforts to support the island’s fire district and the island’s health center. He retired from the EOC a year ago to focus on other island projects, including Islanders for Ferry Action and the island’s Health District. He had a 50-year career in communications, including award-winning broadcast journalism, crisis and issues management, and is a published author of books on use of technology in publishing and law offices.
